Hi, nice to meet you :) We are Ronnie and Matan, the founders of the association “Heart to Plate”. “Heart to Plate” is an association that provides a weekly home cooked meal and a visit to the elderly in need. We founded the association during COVID lockdowns, when we realized that the barrage of calls for help from the elderly to food charities were really calls for closer communication: some kind of relationship, a supportive environment, someone who cares - something that most of us take for granted. Human connection starts from the stomach At the core of our activity is the understanding that human connection is the most important thing for the elderly, but not just for them - also for us, the volunteers, and sometimes also for our families who join us - we all get a lot from interpersonal connection and giving. Together we create whole circles of welldoing and intergenerational giving all over the country. Today we already accompany about 200 elderly people with the help of 440 volunteers in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Rehovot, Migdal HaEmek, Yokneam and Kiryat Ata. I want to join!
